Health & Vaccinations
General information for international travellers to Bangladesh. Please consult a licensed travel-medicine clinic 6–8 weeks before departure — this page is guidance, not medical advice.
Recommended Vaccinations
- Routine: MMR, Tdap, polio, influenza, COVID-19 (up to date)
- Hepatitis A and Typhoid — recommended for all travellers
- Hepatitis B — for stays over 4 weeks or medical/adventure travel
- Japanese Encephalitis — for rural or long stays in monsoon season
- Rabies — for cyclists, wildlife visits or long rural stays
Malaria & Dengue
Malaria risk exists only in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachari). Elsewhere the risk is negligible. Dengue is present in cities during monsoon — use repellent morning and dusk. We provide DEET repellent in every welcome pack.
Food & Water
Drink only sealed bottled water — we supply it throughout your trip. All our partner restaurants and lodges are personally vetted for hygiene by our operations team. Vegetarian, vegan and allergy-safe meals are easy to arrange with 48 hours notice.
Travel Insurance
We require every guest to travel with comprehensive insurance covering medical evacuation, trip cancellation and personal belongings. World Nomads, SafetyWing and IMG Global are commonly used by our guests.
